Product overviews are a big thing. This video was produced in collaboration with Filmless and Digital Narrative.
The first speaker, our VP of product development, is reading from a teleprompter. The b-roll was not filmed at the offices, but at a space we rented via LiquidSpace. The company employees are all playing roles of the users.
We chose to rent an office space rather than film in the company’s real offices so we could have control over the environment. Sometimes people have sensitive information written on white boards, pinned to peg boards, scrawled out across windows or whatever. Or maybe your employees are just messy and you don’t have the resources to clean the office before the film crew comes over. These are all things to consider before a film crew shows up.
Also, you might be tempted to put your employees in the video because it gives the most authentic vibe to the video. If your goal is to save money, you might want to consider the opportunity costs to taking your employees away from their regular jobs. Maybe you don’t want to disrupt the projects they’re working on. In the case of the Wrike video, everything worked to our favor but this is not always the case.
